Help iPod, hard drive fries? tried to restart holding buttons, to help anything. keeps restarting over and over again??
Hi all the other brothers had my ipod video 30g connected to the computer, and I started to copy their songs to the computer as a backup. The problem is – when he said he was sure to disconnect, I did, and he had probs since. When the turn it goes to the Apple logo, the backlight turns on, then you will not anyf ORE. BAM starts with the logo, light, and continuously maintains a restart. I was able to put it into disk mode and iTunes, then it has detected and their songs as a portable hard drive, I think though I could not find a way to restore from there. He took it to the Apple store and said it could just as easily (and might as well) cousin to buy a new iPod hard "hard" fried. I think it can be bad because the unit worked in iTunes when I put it in disk mode .. I tried to restart in February. I'm back tomorrow to talk to them that any information is really useful if I could hope to explain why it did not need to buy a new one:)
This is what it says, with your problem. You may have to restore or upgrade your iPod, iPod mini or iPod nano to put it in disk mode if only an Apple logo when lights. If in this case, the iPod software may have been damaged. Put the iPod into disk mode, then restore or update the iPod software. Put the iPod mode disc. IPod should appear in the iTunes Source pane and on the desktop or a Finder window or on the My Computer window. If a message appears indicating that the volume could not be installed and you asks whether to initialize the disk, choose to start the iPod disk. Use the Mac OS Extended (HFS Plus) if you have a Mac, or FAT32 if you have a PC with Windows. Warning: This process can not be undone. All your songs, videos and other files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data. Follow the steps to update or restore iPod. If you manually put the iPod into disk mode may need to be reset before you can use. If you can not put the iPod into Disk Mode after performing these steps, you may need to be repaired. You can get a repair to the iPod Service Website.
